Privacy Policy for MOWD

MOWD Inc. ("MOWD," "we," "our," or "us") provides the MOWD mobile application ("App"), a theme park planning tool designed to help users organize trips, dining, and informational theme park experiences across major amusement and theme parks. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal data in connection with our App and services.
MOWD is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any theme park operator. References to theme parks, attractions, or brand names are used solely for descriptive purposes and do not imply affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship.
We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy complies with applicable data protection laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (CDPA), the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area.
1. Information We Collect
a. Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Authentication credentials (stored securely by our authentication provider; we do not store plaintext passwords)
- User preferences
- Unique account/user ID
- Sign-in provider association (e.g., Apple/Google sign-in link)
- Account flags/roles
b. Usage and Device Information
We collect:
- Device and network information (e.g., IP address)
- Operating system and device model
- App usage data
- Crash reports and performance data
- App Version/Build
- Diagnostic identifiers used for crash reporting (e.g., an SDK-generated device identifier)
We use a third party for crash reporting. Crash reports are intended to be anonymous and do not include your name, email address, or the content of your trips/plans. They may include technical diagnostics such as device model, OS version, app version, and an SDK-generated identifier to help us troubleshoot issues.
c. Location Data
If you opt in, we access and use location data via device permissions for optional, proximity-based informational features, such as contextual wait time displays. Location data is not used to provide guarantees or operational predictions.
Location data is used only in real time to provide location-based features and is not stored. However, your approximate location may be inferred indirectly, because we store timestamps and the park/property items that you mark complete.
d. Cookies and Tracking Policy
We and our service providers use SDKs, similar technologies, and sometimes cookies to:
- Enable core functionality
- Measure app usage and performance
- Offer location-based enhancements
We do not use these technologies for targeted advertising based on tracking you across other companies’ apps or websites.
e. Push Notifications
We may offer optional push notifications. If you choose to enable them, we may send:
- Trip reminders
- Wait time alerts
- Reopening estimates
- Promotional content
If enabled, your device will generate a notification token used to deliver notifications to your device.
f. Cross-Device Use
If you sign in on multiple devices, we link your data across devices using your account ID to provide the service. We do not use cross-device tracking for targeted advertising.
g. Subscriptions
To be able to provide MOWD Premium, we receive and store the following information to manage subscriptions:
- Subscription status
- Product type
- Purchase/renewal/expiration timestamps
- Store (Apple/Google) and subscription validation identifiers/events
- We do not store full payment card details (handled by Apple/Google)
- Transaction/purchase identifiers provided by Apple/Google and/or our subscription platform (for validation and audit).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Operate and maintain the App
- Provide personalized planning tools and wait time alerts
- Communicate with you about account activity
- Improve functionality, performance, and analytics
- Comply with legal obligations
- Verify subscription status / enable premium features
- Fraud prevention / security / abuse prevention
- Customer support and troubleshooting
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share anonymized or aggregate data with analytics providers.
We may also share data with service providers who help us operate the app securely and efficiently, such as:
- Subscription platform provider
- Authentication provider
- Hosting/database provider
- Push notification services
- Crash/analytics provider
- Apple (for in-app payments/subscriptions)
- Google (for in-app payments/subscriptions)
Each provider is contractually bound to use your data only as necessary for their service.
Certain App features may rely on third-party data sources. MOWD does not control, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of third-party data and is not responsible for errors, interruptions, or changes to such data.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain data for as long as necessary to:
- Provide our services
- Resolve disputes
- Comply with legal obligations
You may request deletion at any time by contacting support@mowd.io or using in-app account controls.
Some records may be retained after deletion requests where required for:
- Legal/tax/accounting compliance (subscription event/audit trail)
- Security/fraud prevention logs (for a limited period)
5. Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Your Privacy Rights by Region
A. California (CCPA/CPRA)
Rights: Know, Access, Delete, Correct, Opt-out, Limit use of sensitive data.
We do not sell data or use sensitive personal data. Submit requests to

B. Virginia (CDPA)
Rights: Access, Delete, Correct, Data copy, Opt-out of targeted ads.
We do not profile users. Submit requests to
support@mowd.io.
C. Colorado (CPA)
Rights: Access, Correct, Delete, Portability, Opt-out of targeted ads. Submit requests to support@mowd.io.
D. Connecticut (CTDPA)
Rights: Access, Correct, Delete, Export data, Opt-out of profiling/ads. Submit requests to support@mowd.io.
E. European Union, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR)
Rights: Access, Correct, Erase, Object, Restrict, Portability, Withdraw Consent.
We rely on: Contractual necessity, Legitimate interest, Consent, Legal compliance.
Transfers use Standard Contractual Clauses. Contact:

7. Security
We use HTTPS, access controls, and secure environments. No system is 100% secure.
8. Third-Party Links and APIs
We may link to external sites. Those are governed by their own privacy policies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted in-app (and/or by email where required).
